Personal Opinion - Obedient Wives Club

I still do not and will never understand or agree with the 'Obedient Wives Club'.

No one can go against it, because it's based on religion. But the name of the club pisses me off, I mean... Come on! 'Obedient Wives'?? Really?? How about 'Female Self-Empowerment Club' or something less similar to referring to wives as trained dogs. Definition of the word 'obedient':

"Complying or willing to comply with orders or requests; submissive to another's will - Google"

In international news, it was mentioned that the 'Obedient Wives Club' angers Women's Rights Group. Well, doesn't it. Referring to women as objects and the traditional thinking of women serving their husbands. View and refer to the photo below to read what the Joint Action Group for Gender Equality (JAG), which includes the Women's Aid Organisation, Sisters in Islam and Women's Centre for Change, have to say about this. They have my full respect!

The fact that the main reason of this 'club' is to reduce the amount of failed marriages, i believe that it is not right. When a marriage fails, both parties are at fault. So why put the blame on women? Create an 'Obedient Husbands Club' and it will be reported as discrimination and will be protested by men. Now we have the men of these members, feeling happy and hopeful that their wives would acquire amazing skills for activities in the bedroom.

"Perak mufti, Tan Sri Harussani Zakaria, has given his backing to the Obedient Wives Club, which offers “sex lessons” to help women keep their husbands." - The Star Online

Of course he does! He's going to receive better sex (or he thinks he is)! Why wouldn't he agree?

Talk about conservative, I thought our country has always emphasized the fact that we are a Muslim country. And now, we have the this joke of a club teaching women to be (I quote the vice-president of the club, Dr. Rohaya Mohamed) "better than a first-class prostitute". After her words went viral in the media, it has been savaged and subjected to ridicule, she covers up with, "I believe we have been misunderstood and misinterpreted. When we said that husbands should treat their wives like first-class prostitutes, we were not putting wives on the same level with prostitutes. We are talking about first-class elite types, not street hooker types". No matter the types of escort or prostitute she compares, 'street hookers' or 'first-class elite types', it still means 'prostitute'!

I agree with the Johor Islamic Council advisor, Datuk Nooh Gadut, who said "The use of the term 'first-class prostitute' was extreme, adding that marriages in Islam should not be just for sex but for, among others, love." - The Star Online

I am very curious about what their meetings or classes consist of. It had me thinking, teaching modern wives how to please their men in the bedroom, how would they possibly conduct the classes? Then the coordinator of the 'Obedient Wives Club', Fauziah Arrifin, when questioned on what these classes consist of, stated that the club will not be giving out practical sex lessons as it is illegal. In an earlier interview, Dr. Rohaya Mohamed mentioned that the club would provide bedroom lessons to the Obedient Wives Club's 1,000 members. This statement of hers received a comment from Fauziah Arrifin explaining that their lessons will consist of motivational talks and discussions among the members. The talks will be conducted by her, Dr Rohaya Mohamed, and eight other committee members. So in layman terms, it means it will be a theory lesson. What happened to practice makes perfect? Yes, I maybe contradicting, but I feel that if you are going to teach these wives to be 'better than first-class prostitutes', teach them right! Imagine what those theory lessons would be like. *A meeting room. Members seated on one side of the room. Speakers standing on the other side, in front of a projector. An image of male genitalia projected onto a white screen background.* Oh, come on!! It doesn't work that way! To make the speakers jobs easier, they should just project scenes from pornography films.

This is sexual discrimination. Very one sided argument to blame women for failed marriages. Do you agree? What are your views on this 'club'? And to the men, how would you feel if a 'Obedient Husbands Club' is created to teach you to be submissive and obedient to comply to your wives orders and requests?

Why she's my best friend

Funniest thing happened today. My best friend, Dhaima, and I had a business training today. As usual, she's always late :p So we attended training till about 12.30pm then I told her that I'll drive us both back to the office as she did not drive today. We got into the car and just as we were pulling out of the parking, something fell and she started screaming and panicking. For a moment there, I thought she encountered a rat, my deepest phobia. So not knowing what was going on, I screamed too. I pulled the car over to the side, and both of us swing the doors open and just jumped out. After 20 secs we thought we were silly and decided to check what it was. We found out why she screamed, and felt absolutely pathetic over it. It seems that my car air conditioning pipes were leaking and a few drops of extremely cold water landed on her feet. We then just laughed and felt stupid. On another note, we were heading back to the office and talking about lunch in the car. I brought whole wheat tortillas so we were planning on what topping to buy. She suddenly mentioned, "Yea! Chula tina would taste amazing on those!". I looked at her and laugh, "What the hell is a chula tina?". She was trying to say chilli tuna. God we broke down in tears. I guess the whole drama of a rat falling onto her still has her all shaken up. Funny-ness :D

Anyway, after work, we'll be catching the movie Kung Fu Panda 2 together. We got free movie screening tickets from some clients from work. Can't wait! It's already Thursday, this week has gone by waaaaay too fast. I kept thinking it was still Wednesday... My bad. Oh well, back to work and back to chatting with this guy friend of mine. Someone I met when I was socializing in the cafe a month ago. Went on a biking trip with him last week, and it was the best EVER! Rode up to Genting for lunch. Chilled out there. Amazing weather there. Me loves the cold! Looking forward to our next biking trip! Either that or looking forward to riding my bike! Still have no idea on which one to get though. Hmmm.... dilemma.

A Whole New World...

Yes, I've done it again. Abandoned my blog in the longest time ever. Well, I guess it's time to give a little update on my lil life. My blog is just somewhere I rant about my life and what's going on. After leaving it for almost a year, a whole lot has happened. Everything in my life changed. I've been super busy with my job as a media planner, which is awesome. Plus the new things in my life? New people, new cafe, new perspective, new goals, new determination, and soon..... a new bike of my very own :D

Will explain everything step by step. Let's start from the beginning of 2011. A whole new year, a whole new beginning. Met so many new people! One of those people used to be someone important in my life, until I realized that no matter how much I try to help him in his life, all he does is talk. Talk about his problems, talk about his goals, and that's where it ends. It never goes a step further than talking. No action and that annoys the hell outta me. So one day I woke up and told myself enough is enough and now I'm a whole new person! No matter what I've gone through, the past is the past. I have him to thank for my current life. He was a entry card for me to expand my network and further my interest in motorsports. After awhile it was all me, as we know I socialize really well with practically anyone. So the rest of the life I'm living now, kicked off from there.

It all started with a cafe. Not just a plain cafe but the first motorsport-themed cafe in South East Asia! I've put alot of time and 'heartwork' into Super GP Caffee (SGPC). So far I'm the events director for the cafe and we've had so many events there. SGPC is doing really well and I love socializing there. It's always my hangout place after work or a place to meet up with friends. Super GP Caffee has a really nice ambiance, dim lights, plush couches, pool table... everywhere you look there's always something interesting, even the washrooms! The food is really great and cheapest alcohol in Subang. Awesome cocktails!! So the latest event we're helping out with is the Super GT International Series Malaysia. So far we've done the Super GT Malaysia Queen Search 2011 for that. Looking forward to more events. This cafe led to a lot of advances in my life.

I have been riding as a passenger with some friends and a biking group. We've been on biking trips just to enjoy and pass time. Conclusion?? I absolutely LOVE biking! I love biking so much that I'm going to be getting a bike of my very own. The dilemma?? I have 2 bikes which I've been introduced to and no idea which one to go for. Planning to get a 2nd hand one first as a first bike. The 2 bikes I've been debating against is the Honda CBR 600rr and the Suzuki GSX-R600.
I want my bike to be in my favourite colour, RED! :D

Planning to get biking gear to fit the colours of the bike. Anyway the Honda is around 187kg and has 105 bhp. The Suzuki, on the other hand, is around 192kg and 110bhp. So here I am, confused and torn between these 2 bikes. I'm 163cm tall and 58kg in weight. Help me figure this out?? Would really appreciate it :D

For now my blog entry will stop here. Look forward to more updates or the continuation of the story to my 'whole new world'. Lurve yah!
